Message from LYAA Board President
LYAA families and friends,
I look forward to serving as the Board President / Director of Baseball for LYAA over the next two years and look forward to working with and getting to know all of the new board members. I would like to thank all of the past board members for their hard work and commitment but I would like to send out a special thank you to Ray Winkel. Ray has served on the board for a number of years including the last two years as our Board President and Director of Baseball. Ray's hard work, commitment, and leadership have been instrumental in shaping LYAA and his shoes will be tough to fill.
Some of you may already be aware of work being done at Converse Park. We began discussing field improvements last year and in our October board meeting we voted to spend the next two years focusing on Converse Park and the Bronco field on Greenleaf. We decided to start with Converse as in our opinion it was in more need of improvements and therefore a priority. Work at Converse was started in November so the field will be ready for play in April. Work on Greenleaf is scheduled to start next fall after the season has ended. These are two large projects but by no means the only priorities we have or the only things we are working on. As a board we are committed to making participation in LYAA's baseball and softball programs an enjoyable and fulfilled experience for every child and family involved.
I invite all of you to attend our board meetings which are scheduled for the first Monday of every month at the township offices, check website for times at http://www.lyaa.org . I also invite any comments or suggestions on ways to improve the experience for everyone involved. We still have two board openings, sponsorships, and special events, if anyone is interested.
